Xbox360 getting CPU upgrade
April 22nd, 2006 by Darren Stevens in Business, E3, Xbox360
Singapores Chartered Semiconductor that makes the chips for Microsoft’s Xbox360 reports that they will move the IBM chip manufactoring process to 65nm, from the current 90nm. That means more chips can be made at a cheaper price, and as the chips are smaller, they’ll draw less power and work at a cooler temparature. That should fix at least some of the overheating problems that many Xbox360 owners are reporting (including myself). From The Inquirer.

I heard about the heat problem, haven’t had any myself though, but let’s hope the console will at least be cheaper
