In THQ conference last week, the company showed off a demo of SpongeBob using the Wii controller. The press was amazed according to THQ. THQ CEO Brian Ferrell mentioned how cheap it is to develop for the Wii:
“One of the things we like about that platform is the development costs… on the Wii are nowhere near what they are on the PS3 and Xbox 360. That’s something that’s quite encouraging. As you probably know, our portfolio maps very, very well to what we think the Wii demographic is going to be.”
The Wii is not so different from GameCube and that’s what makes it so easy (and therefore cheap) to make games, compared to Xbox360 and PS3.
