Nintendo’s press conference just ended, and boy was it far more exciting than Sony’s. They showcased several games, many of them new. Zelda: Twilight Princess looked great, and the Wii controller definetly ads another dimension to it. Twilight Princess will be abvalible at launch, in Q4 2006. You can for instance use it for your sword fighting, for throwing the boomerang or even fishing. Link’s basic movements were controlled by the Nunchuck add-on, which has an independent motrino sensor.
The new Mario game was showed. Super Mario Galaxy looks quite impressive on Wii hardware, although it was a bit hard to see how Mario was controlled by the Wiimote. Super Mario galaxy will be avalible at launch on the Wii, alongside Metroid Prime 3.

There were no specific launch date or launch price and no hardware specs have been presented. Reggie Fils-Aime said that 27 games will be playble at E3.

UPDATE: The Wii controller will have build in speaker. This was demonstrated with Link firing an arrow. You could hear when your stretched your bow from little speaker on the Wiimote, adn then when fired, the sound would “travel” from the Wiimote to your television.

Man, that and that only changed my mind on the whole console.
I mean, up to this morning I was agaisnt Nintendo and their “Wii”, but after seeing some Zelda videos and such.
I see good things ahead for these guys.

I have been behind Nintendo since the original NES (as well as SNES, GameBoy, N64, GameBoySP, Game Cube, and Nintendo DS). I had seen the demo video of the controler a few months before. Back when the codename: Revolution was in play. I was aware that it would be able to sence your hand movements, but I did not know that it would be so user dependant.

In short… It’s freaking amazing! I will get one as soon as I can.
