E3 Poll: 60% will NOT buy the PS3

After yesterdays press conference, a MSNBC poll shows that over 60% will not buy the PS3 after finding out that the cheap version costs $499, and that’s without HDMI. 20% say “Maybe”, and only 15% say that they will defineltly be getting one.
At the press conference, Sony didn’t say that the cheap version will be without HDMI, Wi-Fi, and cardreaders. After the show, the press was handed a .pdf document explaining the detials of the 2 versions.

Sony’s arrogance has just ruined their dominance in the console wars. Sony needs to get a grip and quit focusing so much on Blu Ray… which is why the PS3 will cost so much.

Even with the $499 version, you wouldn’t be able to watch Blu-ray movies on it, which makes it useless as a “medai player” they claim it is.

its better then the 360 and it cost the same, yet i stii wont buy any of them, i wait till i gat 1 on ebay for $100 in a few years
till then i play on my top of the line pc and hacked xbox

The 360 doesn’t run $499 - the Deluxe package (with HDD and wireless controller) goes for $399. At that price, it is hard to go for a PS3 rather than an Xbox360.

Anybody who thinks sony is basing their marketing on an MSN poll of 42k people is retarded. Needless to say they probably don’t even know how insanely advanced Cell really is.
I’m not saying I’ll get a PS3 instead of a Wii, but comparing a PS3 to a Wii is like comparing an F1 car to a GM Hy-Wire — you can’t.

The $500 PS3 will have a fully functional Linux operating system, and Blu Ray, and do everything the $400 xbox360 can do, and for only $100 more. Movie companies aren’t going to put the new copy protection on their discs that need HDMI to be viewed in high definition, for like 5 years. So you CAN watch Blu Ray movies in high definition for a long time , and when movie companies start using the new copy protection, you can still watch Blu Ray movies, just in lower quality. STOP COMPARING THE $500 PS3 to the $300 Xbox360. The PS3 is really a media PC. It could even become a replacement since you can attach a keyboard and mouse and computer monitor.

three things are gonna put sony six feet under, firs of all there arrogance. i mean it’s one think to say our system is ggod buy because this this and that. however what i have been hearing is that our system is going to be the best buy because this is better than that, this is better than that , and these are better than those. not once have i read anything about the ps3 that clearly says our product is good because it has this without undermining the 360 or wii to a (lesser extent).
secondly i don’t give a damn about specs, you could have the most mindblowing ” oh shit , is this real ?”graphics but as of yet where are all the good gamnes at, that aren’t sequels? i’ll admit assasins creed looks ever so sexy but if sony doesn’t have anything else that is not a sequel what am i getting a ps3 for.
lastly the price, how the hell are you going to try to bullshit everyone that $600 for prettier graphics and a new dvd format or whatever bluray is, is a bargain when we know in year sony will probably throw some bells and whistles on to make sure they maintain the price? i don’t have $500 to throw around and very few people i know do aswell and when i can by a core 360 and a wii for the price of one ps3 you know and resolve i had to buy it is gone.

Don’t waste your hard earned cash on the PS3! Look at the Wii it’s FUN and it’s below 250 bucks! And have you seen Mario and Link on it yet DANM!

Guys……Even with the blue ray,the cell technology and other stuff this console has thats not gonna do it. Even if the 360 and the Wii are “lesser” consoles which is what all you ps3 fans are saying….i would still go get a core 360 and a Wii with the 600 bucks i spend on the ps3…..And its not like its only gonna cost 499 because who gets a game console and and not buy a game with it.

- well no its not better than 360 the ‘cheap’ version with sony lying like this can we believe them i think not, is there power what they say it is, is there graphics what they say there are i think not, there lying contantly and please the ‘cheap version’ not even being able to play blu-ray now that is just taking the biscuit lol,Hell 360 will win ps3 this console war in my opinion you’ve seen the poll you’ve seen the price for the cut down ‘cheap’ version, youve seen the price for a HD DVD player external for 360 200$ 360 is more flexible and im sure we have seen the E3 spec comparison between ps3 and 360 Im sure i saw them say 360 was proverbly better including Hardware ect… and i said to someone have you seen that and they said ‘they can change there design lots and lots in a year’ i’d like to quote on that saying ‘no they cant’ im not trying to turn this into a tech junkie fest where we all munch on numbers then the Ps3 8 year old Fanboys come in with their Spaghetti Hoops thinking there good with big words they barely have learnt yet in my opinion 360 and Wii will provail this time round and without people criticising me i would just like to say on the tech side i think Microsoft have the upper hand with their flexibility, Sony havent thought By combinding Cell with their ‘Blu-ray they think they have Won, Well all i can say is they havent won our hearts over nd i dont see that happening just yet while they can be like this with the pricing ect…..

Yeah so i dont know about the rest of you but well i am from canada and the PS3 is damn expencive $659 for the high grade modle $80 for a game $70 for a controler plus the $200 for the extra 5 year warrenty(remeber sony has problems) so thats $1009 before tax(i am from Canada)so thats like $1140 now after all that and adding it all up i see two things. One: something that kicks the shit out of any other system on the market and will continue to for some time(other then a good old mac or pc). Two: i see an investment, somthing that when i shoot that bullet or take that turn to sharp(or through the contoler at my friend the plane does a loopdy doop
it sends a shiver down my spine. It makes me want to take that one less minute of sleep to try and finish that level. It makes me want to duck and dodge and weave and flip and grip and tense and its in all of us gamers did we seddle for the nes no we got a sega did we settle for the 64 no we got a ps and we kicked the shit out of sepherioth. Think what you may about the ps3 but think about how much of us spend on booze or on snack foods or what ever your addiction is and say to yourself “how long would it take for me to come up with the money for the ps3 if i just cut ‘this’ out of my life. I am excited about this new creation that these people have dedicated their lifes to so i can have some mild entertainment. You may not buy one but some of your friends will and i bet your over at their house playing the thing and i hope you enjoy youself.
