A few preliminary benchmarks of nVidia’s 7950 GX2 graphics card have surfaced. The GX2 consists of two 7900 GTX chips running at 500 MHz with 1 GB DDR3 memory at 600 Mhz. It supports Dual dual-link DVI+HDTV-out and HDCP. The firsts test show that in some games the card is almost 1.8 times better than single GPU 7900 GTX. Via SLi, you can setup 2 of these cards and get a quad GPU/2 GB RAM graphics performance. Something that’ll cost you at least $1200.

2It’s not worth doing quad SLI with this card though … as good as it is … the main reason is that it Can’t do HDR and AA simultaneously. Otherwise I would have bought two and done so. I’m waiting to do quad SLI with the card that will come after the 8800.
