Wii To Cost “Less than $220″ Nintendo Says

Nintendo boss Yoshihiro Mori said during a conference yesterday that the Wii would cost no more than 25,000 Yen, US$220, and no more than $250 in the U.S. Nintendo recently reported a drop in net income of 34% this year. The shareholders clearly reacted by Nintendo’s announement, shares fell almost 8%.

Mori also said that Nintendo expects to ship 6 million Wii consoles this (fiscal) year, and over 17 million games. About the same amount of consoles as Sony counts on.
