Here We Go Again (Battlefield 2)
May 26th, 2006 by Darren Stevens in Action, MMO, Online, PCA few days ago, we posted the news about the latest Battlefield 2 patch (1.3), where we, as many others, predicted more problems than fixes (business as usual). The BF2 server browser, which hasn’t worked properly since its launch has been rolled back, so no update there. EA said:
“After a thorough investigation into the issues plaguing the server browser after the 1.3 Update, we believe that a last minute update in the way the Battlefield servers and Gamespy servers communicate may be the cause. We have decided to revert this change in an attempt eliminate these browser issues.”
If you try and browse for a server, the information will be inaccurate, for instance the amount of players on the server, what map is played etc. Luckily players don’t have to uninstall anything, this is only a server issue says EA;
“All servers currently running must be restarted once this change has taken place.” The statement also observes that “If you are experiencing CTD issues upon start up that any alternate-ranking redirections in your windows “Hosts” file must be removed.”
Perhaps EA and DICE are too occupied with Battlefield 2142, instead of fixing Battlefield 2, which was pretty much in a BETA stage the first 6 months of its release.

Just imagine how 2142 will be… more of the same crap from EA. Have you ever tried their customer support? Pathetic if you ask me

Yes the 1.30 patch is crap i have allmost torn out all my hair because of this game it drives me nuts because of bad coding.
I have gotton screen shoots of ingame paly were it says i got killed and was never killed and allso getting points for team damage when i did not hurt any one, Votes of change of map or kick a player started under my name when i never even started the vote… this patch is full of big problems and not many fix’s in it at all.
also since the new patch when i am shooting some one with a sniper rifle because my ingame rez is 1024 x 1280 as i have a x800 gto in my system the shoots do not come up as a hit on the enemy … the only thing i can put this down to is the other person has a slower line and dose not recive the data from my shoot when i shoot, or that have a slow system running low rez.
But i do not think i will be buying battlefield 2146 as this game has allmost shorted my brain out with frustration, and looking into another game that is alot like balltlefiels 2146 but it made by the makers of the free game Enemy Territory witch has been a big hit for a long time as its coding works, there new game is Quake Wars no this is not quake 4 but based on the quake story line. and has been in the making for allmost 2 years and has been getting company testing as the beta was being built throw every stage.
I’m tempted to request EA my money back for BF2 and compansation for the stress made but there crappy coding.
Thats my 2 cents , see you all in Quake Wars as i just throw bf2 in the bin
