No More Original DS?
June 1st, 2006 by Gibran Nawaz in News
With the success of the Nintendo DS lite, there are hardly any gamers that still want the old bulky version. According to retailer reports, Nintendo has stopped all shipments for the original DS, and only shipping lites in Japan. Eastern gamers would rather go stylish. The Nintendo DS lite is scheduled to release June 11th in the United States, although many retailers like Target have already gotten and began selling the system. The price of the original DS has been decreased significantly, seeing bundles for little as $99.99. None of this is unconfirmed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo does stop the one that started it all. Have you seen eBay? There’s nothing but people wanting to get rid of their DS in exchange for a lite!

Doesn’t surprise me. I like my bulky one though… is more durable.

I noticed. I guess eBay won’t be very hot on original ones and most people won’t want one. I want a lite because my touch screen is messed up, so it doesn’t bother me.

I will stick with my bulky DS. I bought it as soon as it came out I don’t really care if the DS lite is smaller and brighter I’m sticking to my old original DS.
