PS3 Online Service Free Of Charge

Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kuratagi said in an interview that even though Sony plans to cash in on downloadable content or the PlayStation 3, basic online service will be free of charge.
“You can’t charge money for network matching and other basic services. These things are just taken for granted on the PC. On the PS3, basic services will be taken for granted while content will be the bread and butter of our business.”
With a proper pricing strategy for online services, Sony could put pressure on Microsoft’s Xbox Live and Nintendo’s Virtual Console. They could even offer downloadable PS2 and PS1 games, but that’s all speculation.
