DS Lite Review Roundup
DS Lite has been out in Japan for a few weeks and has just been released in the US, selling over 135,000 units in just two days. People love the new DS, and so do the reviewers.
Arstechnica says: “Nintendo does it again, and I have a sneaking suspicion many gamers won’t be able to resist trading in their old systems for the new hotness. If you don’t have a DS, this is an even better purchase.”
PC Magazine: “If you’re a DS fan already and are thinking of upgrading, I’d recommend it; you won’t be sorry to spend the $129.99.”
CNet: “With a slick new design, brighter screens, and a growing library of fun and innovative games, the Nintendo DS Lite is an impressive improvement over the original DS.”
IGN: “The system’s been so well thought out and designed that it’s almost impossible to go back to the original Nintendo DS system. Scratch that: it is impossible. I can’t imagine anyone who was faced with the choice of having the Nintendo DS or DS Lite going for the original design.”
BlogCritics.org: “If you have a DS and you are thinking of upgrading to the newest model, you are getting a DS that is less than two-thirds the size and more than 20 percent lighter than the original. The difference in screen brightness and color is breathtaking. After having the DS Lite in my hands to test, I would buy it in a heartbeat.”
Finally, a video review from Cabel featured on YouTube.
