Sony’s entry into the next generation video format, Blu-ray, has been seeing loads of delays. We thought it would release May, then July, then August… Now it’s pushed back to October 25th. Blu-ray’s competition, HD-DVD, has already released into the market. That includes movies, and the player itself.
The reason why Sony might be delaying the Blu-ray player is so that media junkies compare the price to the PS3, and see that the PS3 also has a Blu-ray player, plus many other features, and eventually end up buying the PS3. Sony lost Betamax. What about Blu-ray?
