Crysis Coming To PS3?

   It’s most probably not Crysis that is coming to PS3 but some other Crytek game currently in development. In the latest GameSpot Crytek article there is this interesting bit:

   “[...] Crytek is pushing ahead with a number of projects, each of which we’re told will be substantially different from one another. That’s right–the company doesn’t want to be known as just a first-person shooter maker, but rather a developer of great games in general.”

   Also, CEO Cevat Yerli has repeatedly said that Crysis is PC only.

   That’s been on the Crytek site for atleast a month and has already been posted on digg. And like mocib said, they’re working on other games and preparing CryEngine2 for the consoles but not Crysis itself.

   I think PSM got info that Crysis is coming to the PS3.
   Saw nothing about a 360 version though. After some thought, the PS3 does have a lot of power; it may be able to handle Crysis.

   ps3 has more then 2x the power nedded to play this game crysis for ps3 would run fine and be great if crysis came out for ps3 they would also make more money since that would be the game using the most of the ps3’s power now if they used ps3 full potentiel this game would be great it would be like walking up to a wall and seeing it as the sam quality from 5 feet away and if it doesnt come out for ps3 then u could get direct x 9 and windows xp on your computer and run it thats wat i did with halo 3 beta and halo 2 and it work’s fine you just need crack’s

   Crysis isnt that good. Oh, it’s good for graphics but the engine is kinda weak. Then again it’s not, but go to gametrailers.com and look up starwars the force unleashed. They game is awesome, but dont watch the game. Look for the engine the game is using, ull be OMFG! The way the bodies fall, the way the woods breaks like real wood instead of 2 pieces.

   Dont get me wrong, crysis willb e amazing. I just dont think the ragdoll, breakable buildings are real enough. The game more or less will change gaming, how itsd played. I think the ps3/xbox have enough cpu power,enough ram but not enough gpu power.

   kameron you’re wrong. The 360 has more than enough power to run Crysis. The problem with getting it to 360 though is that Crysis is running DirectX10 where as 360 is running a version of DirectX designed for the advance GPU it has that uses unified shader tech. On paper the PS3 may look slightly more power but it has a bottle necks. It should be able to handle more things on screen with the 7SPEs…physics and such but the limitation is the memory and it only has 1CPU. The 360 has 3 all running equally fast. So it all boils down to is that both are equally powerful…but the Ps3 is harder to program for because of the SPE and to take full advantage of those developers need to find a way to parallel

   Stop making things up. The only reason that Crysis is NOT coming to consoles is because they do not have the required amount of RAM to make the game even nearly as good looking as the PC rival. Without all that RAM, where is it to store the huge amount of textures required for the vast environments and huge landscapes without having to continually load from the HDD or DVD (Causing extreme stutter or excessive “LOADING…” screens.

    Take that suckers, Crysis IS comming to PS3, and will be eaven better, because like major devs say, PS3 is eaven more powerfull than PC, that can run Crysis at MAX without laggs.

    The Xbox has 10 physical cores all running at 4 gigahertz with a fsb of 1333mhz and 5 gigs of DDR3 cl2 Ram with the equivalent of an 8800 gtx. i also believe the numbers and hype that console develepors (especially Sony) throw around to the fanboys.

    Actually the Cell is that good, only issue is it’s asymetric which makes development a bit tougher.

    i can reveal that Crytek is underway constructing a ps3 version with possible talks of a 360 version in the later future.myself as one of the crytek programmers am joyed by this thread as this is the very reason for the desicion.
    there is no release date set , it would happen in a year or so time.
    we have worked extremley hard on this new release + beta.
    Our management team struck a deal with sony on having it constructed to the ps3 this will take time as we need to do some technical adjustments.
    i cant say anymore on this subject till the near future please check the website often and our forums. thankyou

    man ! im glag its getting made for ps3 i have allso played the demo and it looks awsome the best thing is the map maker then u can actually play in the maps you have just made the detail is good theres not allot of restriction u probably could go round the whole island but u need to stick on trail for the mission heres the download link to the single player demo which i might add is superb never mind Beta- testing this is a single player full demo my pc is not even that good and it still ran it very cleanly i cant even play bf2142 but i played this with no problem so they have made it for all comp-setting which is brilliant.

    running windows xp service pack 2.

    it ran crysis piss easy and my pc spec is shocking it actually looked stunning in parts the cut scens and even ingame play was smooth colourfull and very fun very fun thers full freedom and u may not do the same thing twice.

    i cant play bf2142 as i said but i can play this,…….its down to the game desighners putting in e-xtra time to make it more widley availible .it will sell bigtime probably best game of this year !!

    NEXT YEAR WILL GRANDTHEFT AUTO! man i cant wait for it to hit the (uk)

    the cell processor in the ps3 is tougher to programme to but this means that japanese game developers will be 10x more advanced than microsofts format devolpers the japs are working on new technology to make games its said to be more advanced than microsoft can imagine.people think cus microsoft make pcs and are a huge probably billion pound company that no one can come against there technology but your wrong sony have been in the buisness a long fucking time and have super exsperiance at this shit game devolpers of the future will be the kids growing up through universities in both usa and japan/china that will be bringing all the frsh new modrn ideas to the table.microsoft have a very good console and very good game devolpers hit the console quick to get the games out.sony everyone knows released late 1 year.i read loads of gaming sites, mags, forums, sites, and 2-3 years time sony will be producing games alone that will steal back all the money off microsoft its a turf war and we are the soldiers-as we buy the product.both usa /japan have world class devolpers i sway to sony as i have 1 and i had to send x2 xbox 360s back to microsoft as they kept crashing breaking,overheating,redlines on screen -when it was very very well ventalated both comp and power unit.-so i gave up with xbox360.
    my sony was priced more but i feel like i have a machine under my roof that i have payed allot for but, its sleek, good looking hasnt crashed or lagged not even once and i have had it longer than both my xbox 360s lasted for !! so that alone says its high tech quality and as its sony u know there top console technitians have taken there time here - plus bluray lol

    Saying the PS3 is more powerful than the xbox 360 is like saying an F-16 is a better fighter jet than a Spitfire. There’s a few years of technology difference there. While the PS3 might have the most computing power on the market, there was about a four year interval between the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. The 360 came out in May 2005. I think it’s probably a safe bet that some time within the next three to four years we’ll be seeing the next generation of Microsoft consoles which will then proceed to blow away the graphics capabilities of the PS3. It’s just a cycle ladies and gentlemen (wait, are there any gentlemen posting on this site?). Dolly_uk: what are the games that Sony has in store that are going to blow us away?

    @ Ewoksrock: There’s no need to tell which is more powerful between PS3 or XBox 360. Search at Wikipedia, compare the consoles and you’ll see how PS3 is more powerful. If you can’t find anything there, then you’re probably blind.

    PS3 needs more game and the line up for upcoming games is pretty good.

    crysis ps3 ? no way, crysis has advand Ai, today it proves both consoles are not able to run next gen games. both consoles have Frame rates issues with assassin creed, NFS pro sheet, and u guus think crysis is going to run. games like assassin creed, need to be cut down Ai for ps3 (ram issue), 360 (disk space). Crysis will not work for PS3 or 360

    The PS3 will have this game in the next year or so…Crytek knows it needs a console port as their sales of this game are pretty bad due to fact that most consumers do not have a supercomputer capable of playing this game to it’s full potential. The PS3 has superior processing power and can handle this game for the most part…I am not sure if it ia capable of the highest settings that a $5000 PC will do but make no mistake that companies are in business to make money and get a return on their investments and keeping this a PC exclusive will cost them millions of potential dollars in sales.

    I actually bought this game for my PC and it played ok on medium settings. I have a new computer with a high end graphics card but this game needs a minimum of 2 gigs of ram and an SLI configuration of 2 8800 GTX’s to play this at a high frame rate with max settings…the cost to upgrade to play this game is ridiculous and I believe Crytek knows this and will want to port it to the PS3 to boost sales and increase revenue streams.

    i own a ps3 and just on paper for all the little kids on here ie: Ewoksrock look at the history of sony…. i mean take a real good fucking look mate sony wasnt submerged from the seabed last night / or born overnight ….they have to an exstent dominated electronics around the world creating an empire on class/quality goods.i have had my ps3 for 3-4 months it has froze 3times on assasins creed and burnout paradise 4-5 times usually when activating a server or leaving server game just freezes. and i play hours + hours + hours litterly !! …………i was xbox user till it started constantly overheating/ crashing daily/ strugling to read discs/ yes………..!! this is microsofts xbox 360 heap of shite i had 2 xbox 360 and both had to get sent back to microsofts repair depot : RED RING OF DEATH TWICE !!!! …..when my 360 was ventalated very well and was well looked after…so on that bassis i went to SONY PS3 and boy im thankfull !!!

    XBOX -has more users as it was a year ahead launched…….BUT !!!!

    blu-ray - they have made a blu ray disc that is 250gig obviously not in shops to buy but its a disc they have created .. may be used for corparate buisnesses or for other large companies but one day think blu ray started with sony….

    yes i agree ps3 is so much more stable they have pumped out allot of firmware updates but its superb now there lingering out things like ps3 home , which i think takes the piss , i can understand they want perfection but everything that comes from sony takes soo soo long in time to release.suppose the end quality is so more far superior ! BUT HEY YOU COULDNT GET any better friends on ps3 the community is safe and very well organised and people you play with on playstation network are really nice people man you would throw money away with the xbox360 its very cheap i believe 159.99 on gta4 advert but i would stick with what the majority say read online dig , around a little more and see im no fool, ill say it exactly how it is to you so you get the best deal GET PS3 BETTER COMMUNITY , THE NETWORKS FREE , SO ALL GAMES (unless they have subscriptions0 ARE ALL FREE TO PLAY WHEN MICROSOFT CHARGES 40 POUND A YEAR TO PLAY ONLINE WITH THE 360 - UP TO YOU GUYS I HAVE BOTH LOL my sony is far better !!

    PC Hardware costs going down…for a VERY reasonable price you can get a PC that runs Crysis on HIGH-V. HIGH settings…but I still love PS3.
