CNNMoney.com is reporting that the Nintendo Wii is in production, actually since June 21, according to P.J. McNealy of American Technology Research. They predict that this move will give the Wii at least one-month headstart before Sony launches the PS3, November 17.
Sony hasn’t yet begun manufacturing the PS3 due to failing hardware, and remember that Microsoft’s Xbox360 was in production only 69 days before the launch, which could indicate Wii out late September, early October.
Both Nintendo and Sony are counting on shipping 2 million consoles this year, plus another 4 million by March ‘07.

1Even if the Wii comes out before PS3, I am going to wait a couple months to see what users are saying about the systems before I make a decision about which one to buy.
