Xbox360 To Dominate Until 2009
July 9th, 2006 by Darren Stevens in Business, Hardware, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox360
Analyst Jason Anderson from International Development Group thinks that Microsoft’s Xbox360 will be the number one console until 2009, where Sony’s PS3 will take over. He predicts that in 2007, Xbox 360 will have sold 10.6 million consoles, PS3 6.8 million, and 3.5 million Wii consoles. In 2008, the numbers are 15 million, 13,5 million and 6,5 million for Xbox360, PS3, and Wii, respectively. In 2009, he predicts Sony will take the lead. He does not explain what his calculations are based on; certainly not the current “hype” there is around the Wii, and the more negative one on the PS3.
