Quake Wars Delayed To 2007
July 11th, 2006 by Darren Stevens in News
Paul Wedgwood, lead game designer on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars posts a developer diary on GameSpy, where he talks about how they need more time for testing, and how that will push the release into 2007.
“Sometimes you just need more time. To ensure the quality we want, we’ve decided to push the release out of 2006 to allow for extended testing, feedback and game balancing.”
Quite disappointing if you ask me. Quake Wars was one of the most anticipated games this year. Now that the game is pushed into 2007, the main competitors, Battlefield 2142 and Unreal Tournament 2007 will get a good head start in the online multiplayer shooter category. I was really looking forward to play ET:QW this Fall.
