Network Card For Gamers

The new KillerNIC card is a network card designed specifically for gamers. The hardcore gamers that is, the ones who need absolutely no lag when playing online, and there’s a good chance this card will do that. It features a 400 MHz network processor with 64 MB dedicated RAM. The card does all the networking, meaning it offloads the work to the 400 MHz processor from the regular CPU, giving lower pings during gameplay.

It usesUltimatePing technology, prioritizing games over other network programs, such as IM and BitTorrent. Nvidia has a similar technology in their new nForce 5 chipsets called MaxFPS, working the same way. The new card will be available August 16, however, no price has been mentioned yet.
