Some new information has come from id Software about their plans for the Quake 4 1.3 patch. There is a new multiplayer game mode, new weapons and new maps. The patch is currently being beta tested, and is expected out before QuakeCon this year. id Software says:
We’re implementing a number of community requested features and actual gameplay changes to QUAKE 4 gameplay which will provide a faster, smoother, and more highly competitive experience that we hope particularly appeals to those playing QUAKE 4 regularly and/or competitively, but also makes the game even more fun for new players. You can expect increased mobility and control, improved performance with ambient lighting options, and weapon alterations that advance playability and challenge competitive players.

1Yes, thats right, new maps from ID Software and and so much more, a new gametype and a new feture known as Buy Mode.
I don’t care how much the noobs who don’t play the game think about all the new gametypes and such because I have played the new maps and have used the new gun and it all owns alot of ass.
This is defently an essential to the game.
