50 New Live Arcade Games This Year
Microsoft has said there would be 50 games available on Xbox Live Arcade before the end of 2006. They just announced a new promotion idea called “Live Wednesdays”, where every Wednesday a new Live Arcade game appears. But that’s not all, according to XBL manager Greg Canessa, there would be 30 at the end of this summer, and 50 before the end of 2006. He also added that the new initiative is a part of a “direct response to the community”.
“We’ve been working pretty much in secret for a number of months on Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays – we did go dark for a little bit. That’s part of the reason why we’ve had a little bit of a drought over the last couple of months on Xbox Live Arcade.”
Every Wednesday at 8:00am GMT, a new Live Arcade should pop-up, but Canessa also points out that there might be a week or two without new games, and then another week with two titles at the same time.
