Dead Rising Not Banned After All?

Recently we reported that the horror game Dead Rising was banned in Germany for being too violent. The game is not banned, according to Xbox Live Germany’s Boris Schneider-Johne. He writes on his blog that the German rating system is “complicated and unique”. The game has not been officially banned, since the USK didn’t give it any age rating. This way, the game “might be banned” in the future. Boris writes that this can mean two things:

  1. The game can not be sold to minors and can not be sold via mail order – but it still could be advertised and shown openly.
  2. Microsoft does not allow software companies to publish “unrated
