LucasArts Confirms Wii Support

During Comic-Con 2006, Star Wars representative Steve Sansweet confirmed that LucasArts will be developing for all three next-gen platforms, including the Wii.
He was asked about the Wii support during a Q&A session, where a young boy asked him if they would support Nintendo’s new console, where Sansweet responded by comparing the Wiimote to a lightsaber (who hasn’t done that, lately?).
As usual, no further information was given, but we assume you’ll be using the Wiimote as a lighsaber, among other things.

About F#*=¤ time. A Starwars lightsaber game would be a good enough reason for many to buy the console. Myself included. Gonna have it anyway, cos it’s way to coole. And when they make the game, I’m gonna play as Darth Vader, and then I’m gonna chop of the head of that little self reighteous bastard, LUKE SKYWALKER

Agree. But I still think it’s stupid and arrogant that they had to watch the success of the Wii after E3, before recognising Nintendos little new baby. If they had trusted the Wii (revolutuion) when they first heard about it, we could might as well have had a lightsaber game at launch date, and lucasarts could have had a big seller from launch date
