100 PS3 Titles In Development

ps3 The Guardian reports about the status of the PlayStation 3 platform, including a short interview with company president Phil Harrison. Despite all the bad PR Sony has had lately, along with the hardware problems, Harrison says that over 100 title are in development at the moment.

“We have shown more playable games than ever before, so the signs are good, and right now there are more than 100 Blu-ray movies available today, in the US. More than 100 games are in development, and all the major third-party publishers have pledged their strategic support for the platform.”

A week ago, we reported that Sony has shipped over 10.000 dev kits to 3rd party developers, which pretty much explains the high amount of game is development. Harrison also mentioned that the PS3 hardware is complete, and that developers have the final console hardware in their hands.

I can’t wait for the PS3 to hit the market. I hope does 100 gams are top quality and not jsut PS2 look a likes.

Man listen.. I haven’t really been too pleased with Mr. Sony lately! Biting from Nintendo; carbon copying X-Box Live; a sky-high price for their next gen console; shock advertising for a white PSP; getting bitch-slapped by Immersion. I read a blog on MSNBC where 60% of the people who participated in a poll said that they would not shell out the $600 for a new PS3! Even developers are complaining that the cost for making PS3 games is well above that of X-Box 360 and the upcoming Wii. It’s almost to the point where they can either hit or miss with this November launch(oh in case you didn’t know, the Wii’s going to have this war sewn up soon!). Now i’ve always been a die-hard PlayStation fan. But i gotta tell ya.. Sony had better be ready to pull some rabbits out of their hats- and fast! What do you guys think?
