List of Cancelled PS3 Games

August 4th, 2006 Posted in News

Technophilia has listed a ton of cancelled PlayStation 3 games. The article also describes the reasons why they have been cancelled. Surprisingly, most of the games cancelled were not cancelled due to high development costs.

The games include Killing Day, Theseis, Elveon, Endless Saga, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Smackdown 07, Oblivion, and Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

The article also lists an Xbox360 game that has been cancelled (yes, only one), and a few cross platform games. There are no Wii games on the list.

    The reference link is broken…

  2. SG Says:

    - Killing Day was a multiplatform game.

    - Theseis development hasn’t started yet. The developers clarified that a PS3 version was never planned initially.

    - Oblivion was said to be on a next gen console. Singular, not plural.

    - Splinter Cell was never planned for the PS3.

    - Alan Wake.. this takes the cake. MS picked up the game, so you actually expect PS3 development to continue?

So the real list is only four games.

As far as the 360 goes, The Sopranos was cancelled for it. Add Scarface as well. Scarface was never announced for the PS3.

Actually, Scarface was 1ast announced for the PS3. But like the majority of 3rd gen game developers, they found it to be far more cost effective to bring it out on the PS2 platform as opposed to the PS3. Good luck selling that thing, Sony!

  4. Big Boss Says:

dunno about the rest but Oblivion is definitely coming out on the ps3 , an interview with the developper on ign confirmed that, he was talking about how they worked on a shader for the ps3 version, it hsa been recently confirmed that splinter cell double agent is coming out on the ps3 but there will be no further splinter cell games for the platform , and elveon was being made by a small company, they might ve run out of funds or something.
