Sony has confirmed that the PS3 will be able to use old gamesaves from the PS2 and PSOne, provided you have an adaptor. Sony has previously said they are committed to making every previous PS2 and PSOne game compatible with the PS3. The news was posted on the official PS3 FAQ, saying that the required memory card adaptor is “designed to edit, up/download game saves to and from EMS flash card or smart media card.”
There was no mention of how much the adaptor will cost, or if it will be available at launch.
