Wii Rumor #148: Voice Recognition

August 16th, 2006 Posted in Articles, Offbeat, Rumor, Wii by Darren Stevens

Time for yet another Wii rumor; this time, that there will be a microphone included as well, sporting some advanced voice recognition features. It will also be able to convert speech to text during IM conversations, and even detect the pitch and tone of your voice, then using corresponding font type/size.

At this point, you’re probably thinking “What a load of s***”. Well, the rumor comes from IGN’s Insider Forums, posted by a hot shot who has managed to “predict” several other Wii features, such as the speaker inside the Wiimote. He also claims the Wii will have a wireless headset included, among other things.

At this point, it doesn’t even make sense. None of the Wii rumors makes sense anymore. Tomorrow we’ll be reporting on how the Wii will sense your mood, and will of course feature a built in microwave.
