Xbox360 Coming To South Africa Soon

August 21st, 2006 Posted in Business, Xbox 360

flagMicrosoft is looking to Launch the Xbox360 in South Africa on September 21, and 4 other countries as well; Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. That would bring the total amount of countries with an official Xbox division to 21.

The South African launch will be including launch titles such as Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo, and a bunch of others. The price of the console will be 3,699 South African Rand, or roughly $525 USD. Seems quite a lot for a country with a GDP per capita of just under $3,800 a year (not to mention a 30% unemployment rate.).

Later this year Microsoft will launch the Xbox360 in India and Chile as well.

Hopefully they will go threw with the launch and not cancel it like they did with the original Xbox as I stay in South Africa but currently working in the United Kingdom.
But just to be safe, I think I will just buy my Xbox 360 before moving back to SA.
Hope they will be releasing the Pal version of the system and games.
