New DS Lite Colors

Nintendo has announced two new versions of their popular handheld DS Lite. On September 13, they will release the DS Lite in black, called “Onyx” and pink, called “Coral Pink”. Nintendo hopes the two new DS Lite variants will maintain the high sales they are currently experiencing. George Harrison, Nintendo of America Senior Vice President says,

“Not only are the DS Lite screen and battery life incredible, but the new colors just add another element of fun, allowing people to ‘personalize’ who they are by the color, or colors they pick.”

The DS Lite has seen great sales worldwide, both hardware and software wise. New Super Mario Bros. has sold over 1 million units during only 12 weeks in US, making it the fastest selling DS title. Other DS titles are selling well, Animal Crossing: Wild World has sold nearly 800,000 copies in the US as well, and finally, Brain Age, has surpassed the 4 million mark in worldwide sales.
