Sony Denies PSP Redesign Rumors

September 2nd, 2006 by Darren Stevens in Hardware, PSP, Portable, Rumor

pspA Sony spokesperson told GamesIndustry.biz that they have no plans of redesigning the PSP. This came after PlayStation Magazine ran an article suggesting a redesigned PSP, with 8 GB or internal memory and a bunch of other goodies. The spokesperson took the opportunity to highlight the new add-ons for the PSP, a GPS module and the PSP camera.

There were a few indications that the PSP redesign simply wasn’t going to happen, at least not with the 8 GB internal storage. Such a large flash memory module would bring the price to over $400 for a PSP console.

too bad….that would be the only way I’d buy one at this point. 8 gigs of flash woulda been great for homebrew and video storage.
