Dedicated AI Processor
September 5th, 2006 Posted in News

It was only a few months ago when we saw the Ageia PhysX card, a physics processor for PC gamers. Now a company called AISeek has developed a dedicated AI processor called Intia. The processor comes with a software development kit, making it easier for game developers to integrate the new technology. It can accelerate AI-tasks 200 times faster than a normal CPU. If it all sounds mumbo jumbo to you, check out some video demonstrations of the thing in action. Even though it looks very interesting, don’t expect to see a final product just yet.

I don’t see this as being useful, since most AI is rubbish.

What a waste … with dual core processors and the coming quad processors this is really not needed … what is needed is just better all around game AI. These guys are just trying to cash in on the fact that hardcore gamers are willing to buy add cards like the PPU. Meh no thanks to this. For now anyway.

dude, you can’t be that shallow! But if it makes you happy, Steve Irwin was involved in the making of video games. Maybe you don’t know that his game “The Crocodile Hunter: Operation Rescue,” made its way to mobile phones or were you still sending out smoke signals around that time?

You’re now probably wondering what Warcraft has to do with crocodiles, right? It’s a good thing that some of us have a life outside of video games and acknowledge that fact. Bottome line- The guy was well-liked by many and i found it to be kind of a surprise that digitalbattle didn’t dedicate at least one post to him that’s all.
