Spore To Connect DS And Wii

According to Nintendo magazine NGamer, Spore will be the first Wii title to use the option of connecting the DS and Wii. Spore hasn’t been officially confirmed as a Wii title yet, but creator Will Wright suggested it at this year’s E3.
NGamer says Spore will be released during Spring 2007, and will connect to the DS over WiFi. Some hardware news are also mentioned; the sensor bar is 50% smaller, Wiimote battery life is estimated at around 60 hours using the AA batteries, and the controller will have built in 6 KB of memory.
On the downside, it appears that the Wii will also be DRM infested as the other consoles; your downloaded Virtual Console games will not be playable on other consoles than your own.

yeah im zero exicted about this since i can play all those games right now! on my pc without paying a dyme i can easily tend to guess that nintendo will charge atleast 30$ for downloading zelda games.

600$ for PS3 is more but its a console thats going to be worht every penny with all that it offers easily worth atleast 1000$.

60 hours is a lot. Way more than I had hoped for. And the wiimote is a perfect substitute for a mouse. Maybe it’s even better. After the release of spore, it’s going to be exciting to see how many rts will be heading for Wii. Rumors says that blizzard is in the works for Starcraft 2, that could be cool. That kind of games are also starting to appear on the DS, with Settlers coming to it very soon. If it’s succesfull, will hopefully see a lot more of those games on DS and Wii

It’s obious nintendo desided to play safe on this one ,they cant afford to losse money like microsoft or Sony,why? well because they are just a console that makes video games.
so they play safe ,they build a really cheap console try sell it at profit since day one.

Don’t get me wrong, I dislike any sort of blind brand loyalty, be it to Nintendo, Sony, or or any other company. But still, one has to be blind or pathologically optimistic to still be loyal to Sony these days.

this is the kind of play i think we all fantasized about with gba / gamecube connectivity, but that never really materialized. the wireless connection and increased abilities of the ds (vs gba) will hopefully make this a more common feature.

Gentlemen, I am one of the most vocal supporters of the PSP you will find, continuing my tirade even when Tycho left off. I do not own a GameCube. I do not enjoy the majority of the Nintendo franchises, preferring my games with a few more balls.
But anyone who claims the PS3 is a better deal than the Wii is, at this point, flailing madly down De Nial river.

is the xbox 360 really worth 400$ when just for online service only you will be paying about 300$ more(6 year for the generation). NO! the xbox 360 is not worth the price tag either.

It’s the same thing nintendo copied the idea from Sony though just like they have in the past ,two analog sticks in the controler ,the n-64 had only one and the PSx had 2. and then greates hits tittles ,memory cards ect.

That we DO know, do to the fact that the EyeToy usus inferior technology and that the positioning system with the sensor bar uses more advanced technology. The Wiimote works like this(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiimotel), and is very accurate, where as the EyeToy uses a camera and is not nearly as accurate. The EyeToy is also prone to issues with light.
The Wiimote also has a built in speaker, 6kbs of flash memory, and can sense tilt, wihch the eyetoy cannot. What eles does it have? Rumble, which neither the EyeToy nor the PS3 has.

Holy crap, are you even thinking? Nintendo INVENTED the anolog stick, the N64 used Memory Slots,the SNES and the Game Boy also had Player’s Choice far before the PSX had Greatest Hits.

The PSX controler was the 1st pad ever to include not one but two analog sticks in their pads, the nintendo 64 controler one had one.
now why game cube pad uses two analog sticksa just like the PSX one???
then comes xbox with a huge mega huge controler and yeah two analog sticks are there also ,Sony makes them the other copy them.

rofl. i remember remote control car controls having two sticks. as well as aeroplane controls.
shaka… sony stole the digital up-down-left-right pad off Nintendo. as well as rumble packs. and memory cards. and shoulder buttons were taken from the SNES, which Nintendo created. NOT sony.

Does this guy not stink of troll to anyone else? And even if he’s not a troll, trying to convince someone this dense about the relative merits of the next gen consoles is like trying to convince a blind man that the sky is blue.
I especially like the point about nintendo copying the dual analogue sticks from sony, ignoring the fact that the n64 pioneered the modern console analogue. Classic.
Should also be noted that the ps1 was originally designed as an add-on to the snes, but was scrapped to due the catastrophic failure of the sega mega-cd. In retrospect, bad move on nintendo’s part. Hopefully the apparent popularity of the wii will make this a better contested console war than the last few debacles.

What I don’t understand is why everyone is taking a
game so seriously people yes both the PS3 and WII are both good ways to kill time, but they are aimed at 2 different markets the wii is more family oriented games not as violent as PS3 as Nintendo has been, and the PS3 is more of an adult oriented (or teens who think they are adults) console
