LOTR Online Beta Testing Begins

The upcoming MMORPG from Turbine, Lord of The Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, has gone into beta stage. The beta release is by invite only, but you can register here and hope to get picked, since over 200,000 have already signed up. Turbine CEO and president Jeffrey Anderson says,

“The response to the LOTRO Alpha was overwhelming. Player enthusiasm continues to exceed our expectations at every milestone. The Alpha was oversubscribed and the Beta programme is on a record-setting pace with nearly 200,000 players already registered. LOTRO is building toward one of the largest beta communities in the industry.”

There is still no official release date set for the game, some suggest it will be available during spring 2007, which seems decent since it’s already in beta stage.
