The New York Times reports that the Wii will cost $249 in the US, and launch on November 19. Furthermore, they claim the package will include a copy of Wii Sports, bundled with the console. The article mentions that 25-30 Wii titles will be available in 2006. Nintendo expects to ship 4 million consoles this year, and another 2 million by March 2007. First party games will be priced at $50, $10 less than Xbox360 games. Virtual Console games will be priced from $5 to $10 each.

The article was removed shortly after publication by NYT, but you can find it on the Seattle Post-Intelligencer website. None of it is “official”, since the Nintendo US event hasn’t started yet.

[Update 1: USA Today confirms the launch details, $249, November 19, and bundled with Wii Sports.]
