Xbox360 HD-DVD Add-on Pricing Info
September 19th, 2006 Posted in Business, Hardware, Technology, Xbox 360
According to Kotaku, who got an “insider tip”, the upcoming HD-DVD add-on for the XBox360 will be released on November 19 for 19,800 Yen, or $168. The add-on will support 1080p HD resolution and include Windows Media Center compatibility.
Their source says that Microsoft will officially reveal the details tomorrow during TGS, and probably announce the worldwide release details at X06 in Barcelona. If the price appears to be correct, it’s certainly cheap enough to challenge the built in Blu-ray drive in the PS3.

Shaka…. That’s just a little bit oversimplification… There’s a bit more to it than that. — Do your research

Do what research, eveything i said was nothing but facts.

i did not say “your information was false.” However, i think that if the decision was as easy as deciding which format can hold more information– there would not be a format battle.. that’s all (:

Don’t worry Justin, nothing shaka says is ever true. He makes up facts and figures to support his own argument.

What support Shaka?
Cant you make a comparison list?
Also, why are you parising the Blu-ray, when the quality of the HD-DVD is proven to be better?
What’s the point of having more gb, when they lack in quality?
September 20th, 2006 at 7:22 pm
Nothing has been proven yet, Blu-Ray is the best and the facts are out there.

Blu-ray is the next standard too I think. When the higher production costs and little errors (which all new media have, remember first cd or dvd players???)
It is in effect 40% more space, the blu ray can have more layers too.
Not only does ps3 support blu ray and xbox360 not (I hear you already say: it does, yes in the pay-extra version. This is as good as non-existent then, cuz there is no standard, like in pcs)
It will most likely also be the next pc-standard, since the BR format contains so much more data.
25 gig is the minimum from the first generation. The first cd roms had 650, now 800mb, to give you an idea.

“Nothing has been proven yet, Blu-Ray is the best and the facts are out there.”
If nothing has been proven yet, how can you say the blu-ray is the best? Besides, every comparison review on the internet states that the HD-DVD is the best in quality (not quantity)

The big point here is who gets the most hollywood studio support and well hd-dvd is only suported by universal. when Blu-Ray has everything else that makes 80% of the rest.
hd-dvd is a total joke its going no where and the name just sucks and its lame, Blu-Ray sounds way cooler and the blue cases are hot.

“Blu-Ray has everything else that makes 80% of the rest”
Are you 100% sure about these “facts” Shaka?
