Bioware Makes Handheld Debut on DS
September 20th, 2006 Posted in News
BioWare, famous for games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Baldur’s Gate, and Neverwinter Nights, has announced today that they will be making their first handheld game on the Nintendo DS. BioWare president, Greg Zeschuk, stated:
We are committed to creating the best story-driven games in the world, and the Nintendo DS offers us an exciting new platform to engage.
Dan Tudge, project director and former president of Exile interactive, will lead the development group. Previous games that Dan Tudge has worked on include Sega’s world Series Baseball 2K2 and 2K3, and Toxic Grind.
As usual, no further details were revealed, but one can assume it will be another single player oriented RPG game, a genre BioWare has mastered by now.

I love BioWare, and that the new title is coming to the DS is making it even more appealing!
Hmm, So, what do you guys think: New series, or KoTOR Inspired thing?

Definitely new series

I cross my fingers for a new series

I’ve never even gotten a chance to play KotOR. Ever…

I’ve also heard Square’s making a game for the DS, besides FF3.
…So happy!

But the new BioWare made KoTOR and Jade Empire. If anything, they’re much better.

“Bioware (the real one) is an rpg legend (next to troyka only), they put it on the map. They made it big. The FF series or all the jap single track storylines & blind grinding pale in comparisson to the complex titles these companies prodcuced.”
Uh, you mean like the only RPG BioWare made before Jade Empire, Baldur’s Gate?
September 21st, 2006 at 2:29 am
I did. BioWare was founded in 1995. Baldur’s Gate was released in 1996. The only other RPGs the released before 2003 are sequels of Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights..
Look it up.

With it’s failing support and crap sales numbers? Why would anyone waste money developing for the PSP anymore?

dude do u even read there wasn’t even a game announced. PSP is dead. I know I own both shaka so don’t start. Once a good video ipod/or whatever comes out there will be no need for a PSP.
PSP is a muli-media player that has no games on it and no HDD. also UMD is dead damn Shaka read teh signs.

The PSP more and more resembles the gamecube. A failure. Maybe the PSP2 will be a bigger hit.
And I think the PS3 is going the NeoGeo way at the moment. Too expensive, although more impressive graphics

“the PSP destroys the n-ds. its a fact.”‘
Is that a fact? Failuring sales numbers, especially on the software. How is it destroying the DS? Please explain
“the n-ds is stupid and it has pathetic kiddie boring games.”
You’re just jaloux because you’re not old enough to play the games, although they are made for kids. No, seriously Shaka. How old are you? I was educating some 11 year old kids today, and the definetely had a more mature way of expressing them. NINTENDO DS IS STUPID. ROFL

Nintendo is for kids, its a fact and so is the m-ds and his patethic games with SNES graphics, now its no wonder Europe and USA prefer the PSP over that crap n-ds.
n-ds games suck PSP has more original games for everyone, not just kids.

a better fit for that hardware is a 2D game.
September 22nd, 2006 at 3:19 am
Because let us ignore the many 3-D games for the DS, shall we? >_>
September 25th, 2006 at 3:42 am

Yay for ports. and unorigial games, but then again this is nintendo so what can you espect.
November 2nd, 2006 at 1:56 pm
umm psp died coz all games were pretty much ports. any1 who owned a ps2 on instinct went and got a psp, and all 3rd parties (majority) did was import their franchsies. From my understanding, who wants to buy a port when the original plays better and looks better on a ps2?
