Far Cry Wii Officially Announced

Ubisoft has officially unveiled the detail of Far Cry for the Wii, called Far Cry Vengeance. The game will be a launch title for the Wii, and feature the usual Wiimote controls as seen in Red Steel. There will be a split screen multiplayer mode, but no online feature was mentioned. Of course, the game won’t look anything like on the Xbox360, but will certainly match the original Xbox game, as the screenshots indicate. Another screenshot after the jump.

Well I for one am completely unimpressed.
There’s smoke covering half the screen in both pictures, and I’m certain the system is capable of rendering better shots than this.
When I get my Wii, I believe I’ll skip this one.

wow, those graphics don’t look too good. However, if i know Nintendo, i bet the game play will be excellent

ooh this is hilarious.
While the xbox and ps3 will get the followup, crysis, the Wiiboyz will have to settle for it’s *by then* 6 year old predecessor.. ooh this really makes for a great day!
What better benchmark is there then to show off the true next gen devices near the wii’s pathetic cpu?
However, the wiiboyz should still be happy, because Farcry is an absolutely cool game. but then again, it is kinda like having doom on your n64 while the rest of the world plays quake…. oops sorry that’s a sore spot.

Neither the 360 or PS3 will get Crysis, it’s PC only, and Far Cry for PC came out in 2004, so it’s not quite exactly 6 years old.

All I can say is that I am glad I have a 360 for that game … it sure doesn’t bring out the best the Wii has to offer. Maybe the gameplay will be fun enough so that the graphics don’t matter as much.

Ah ah, look at the reaction from the WiiNe-fanbois when encountered by the first solid comparisson of the wii’s lowly cpu against the other consoles.
I bet my DII hardcore accounts that crysis will be multiplatformed as with farcry. And even if it wouldn’t, it is possible muahahha! Btw there already are rumours of an 360 port. So you better believe it will be ported.(excluding wii ofcourse due to graphical limitations)

doom, Xbox 360’s hardware isnt capable of running Crysis with a decent framerate, since the game is developed for DX10(Bernd Diemer of Crytek said so in GC06).
I am not a Nintendo fanboy (actually a 360 owner) but i don’t diss other peoples choose of console…

i guess its nothing bad at all to play with a gimmick and still keep the hot graphics or atleast try to make it look next gen. a bit more.

could be early screenshots? i dunno :S.. When compared with how nice Red Steel looks, these are either fake, or development shots.
