Valve has updated the economy of Counter-Strike Source. From October 11th, the prices on all weapons will be dynamic, and updated weekly. So if a weapon was bought a lot this week, it would cost more the next week. More on the pricing and market here.

Even though they are trying to make some changes, this doesn’t seem to be the best solution. Clan matches will be affected seriously, as there would be an advantage playing those weeks when the prices are low. Also, some users on Steam forums have pointed out that it’s easy to compromise the system by making scripts that buy a certain weapon over and over again, causing the price to rise sharply the following week.

Couldn’t they just introduce some new weapons and equipment, instead of tweaking what ovbiously doesn’t need tweaking?

I wish Valve would stop messing with all this and do something new! Why are they just re-hashing old material over and over, move on!! Let’s see a new game (ooooh no way)! Don’t get me started on episodes …
