GTA Blamed For Triple Murder
Anti game crusader Jack Thompson is once again suing several companies on behalf of a family whose son “played GTA and shot three of his relatives”. The $600 million (yes, million) lawsuit includes Take-Two and Sony, among others.
Thomson says that the kid, Cody Posey (16), was playing the game “obsessively” and calls it a “virtual reality murder simulator”. According to the suit, the game
“trained him how to point and shoot a gun in a fashion making him an extraordinarily effective killer without teaching him any of the constraints or responsibilities needed to inhibit such a killing capacity”
Does anyone wonder why no one asks where these “obsessive” kids got the guns in the first place? Or is that too obvious?

And of course, it will be very easy to prove that the only place that young Cody learned about guns is from that game since he probably never saw one on TV, a movie, or any other game for that matter…

thats bullshit stupid parents leave their guns out for their stupid kids to grab. games are only for entertainment. and why sony? sony didnt make that game. why not microsoft? microsoft also has that game! “we’re in the money, we’re in the money” ever heard that song?

That is just a really sad story and gaming had very very little to do with it if anything at all. The kid was sick and disturbed and would have killed someone someday even if he never played any games. I just refuse to blame gaming for killing people when movies, TV, and music also do such a “good” job at spreading negative imagery.

Watch the file “This Film Not Yet Rated” and you’ll really start to understand how insane this really is. Blaming games when HOLLOWWood loves to glorify violence on a non-stop basis. It is really enough to make a person die of laughter.

this guy’s obviously press-hungry. Jack Thompson aint accomplishing dung with these flippant law suits! This guy’s not an anti-game crusader. he’s another ambitious elected official trying to generate publicity for his political career advancement. These guys are about votes. do you really think that he gives a damn about video games? I really doubt it.

How come video games are the only media blamed for these kinda things. I mean they don’t blame the movies or TV shows he watches. Maybe he went online and found a website to learn those kind of things! The government and media need to back the F off and focus on real matters like our economy and the war on terror. Blaming video games is a quick and easy way to cover up the things wrong on our society like bad parenting.

Why not make a game where you are supposed to kill Jack Thompson. Then maybe one day, a teenage gamer will actually do it
