The PlayStaion 3 controller has officially been named SIXAXIS (not “sixaxis”), because of the six degree motion sensing feature (up/down, left/right, forwards/backwards). It will be released on launch day with a 5,000 Yen ($43) price tag. It’s a pretty decent price, considering the Wiimote + nun-chuck will cost $60 combined.

A USB powered Memory Card adapter has also been revealed, making it possible to transfer your PS2 and PS1 game saves to the PS3. The adaptor will retail at 1,500 Yen ($13). More pics after the jump.

  1. STD Says:

43 bucks is pretty good considering it almost uses the same technology as the Wii controlers. Atleast the PS3 controlers are relatively cheap.
