id like to wait .. imagine a similaritys here .. imagine buying a car thats rushed out the market with no brakes .. you would defintly not want to buy it . so waiting for the company which most likely not delaying cause of shortage but probably found a big problem .. so
waiting = good
plus why moan about the wait there not doing the idea of the ps2 .. rush it out before all bugs and bad things are fixed

the ps2 was extremely pricey at first as well as I can remember. But can’t really calc back due to inflation and relative goods//income

and I think the ps3 will ofcourse drop in price after a few months, they wont be 100 usd away from xbox I recon.

Maybe PS3 will be a big success like PS2 is at the moment or maybe it will flop. PS2 is without a doubt the no.1 home console of the last generation but it wasnt so expensive you have to sell a kidney to afford it.

This week’s Famitsu is really interesting. For those of you who can’t read Japanese IGN has a summary up. They interviewed all of Japan’s top publishers about next gen consoles and which they thought would sell the best. Wii won resoundingly with price being given as the reason for the PS3 being low.

A few weeks ago the top japanese analyst predicted that Wii would outsell PS3 too, perhaps Sony’s mistakes with PS3 will see a new age of the SNES.

I’m concerned about how well the PS3 will sell due to the ridiculous price. Hardcore gamers will buy it sure, but they aren’t what will make or break the console, PS2 was mainstream and i can’t imagine someone who doesn’t play manhy games paying over £400 for a console when two on the market are under £200. As for Blueray, new format which might become betamax and buy all your dvds again to see a difference…. no thanks ill wait til Tesco sells players for £50.

PSP vs DS is the perfect example, PSP is technologically superior and did much better at launch because hardcore gamers flocked to buy it. But now 1 year on DS is outselling it 5/1 in every week’s retail charts and UMD seems to have flopped as a format. Flick thorugh a trade mag like MCV and you’ll see its dark days for PSP
