Wii Production To Reach 9 Million In 2006
While Sony is experiencing problems with the PS3 production, Nintendo’s Wii is ahead of production schedule by a rather large margin. According to International Business Times, over 2 million Wii consoles are already complete, and another 7-9 million are expected to be built in 2006.
This puts Nintendo well ahead to the announced 4 million consoles in 2006, and another 2 million before the end of March 2007. The new information means that Nintendo might end up with over up to 9 million consoles ready this year, compared to Sony’s 2,5 million PS3s.

IF this rumor is true, Nintendo COULD have sold almost half as many Wiis at the end of this year than their total number of gamecubes

Wow! Thats a lot of consoles! The 360 has sold like 10 million consoles so if the Wii sells out with every shipment Microsoft’s year long lead could be cut drastically. Now the only thing Nintendo has to do is sell all those consoles wich may be harder than u think. I really do think the Wii is overhyped at times and those who were riding the PS3 train before E3 stopped and jumped on Wii’s. Which is pretty much the whole video game industry.

10 million? Pfft. MS won’t be seeing 10 million for a while. They’re at 6,112,000 (rounded)as of this moment.

MS is selling less 360 than original Xbox… I don’t know if they even manage to sell 6 millions, & from this 6 millions, how many are already replacement ones… like the 100 millions PS2, I wonder if there are even 60 millions working PS2 out there… last time I heard the 360 was on the verge of 5 millions… they are way below half of their previsions… Wii FTW!!!
