G4 Under E! And Style Channel Management

October 15th, 2006 Posted in Business

Comcast will reportedly place G4 under E! The new president, Ted Harbert will be in charge of 3 channels: Style, E!, and our beloved G4TV.

At this time, Harbert will be focusing on E!, while G4 president Neal Tiles will stay in his current position. It is unclear about other employees of the station at the moment, however, G4 staff will be moving from their current location in West Los Angeles to Wilshire, where they will join the E! and Style networks staff. Harbert said to TV Week

“I do agree with the vision of going after young men more than just going after gaming. Gaming has been demonstrated as being too narrow.”

Which is the reason G4 moves further and further away from actual videogame content, and inevitably, losing its core fanbase. This is the first indication that G4 will probably end up like any other mainstream TV-show.
