It looks like Sony gave a bunch of money to a hot-shot music video director to create something “artistic” for its first PS3 TV commercial. Which is probably why it has nothing to do with PlayStation 3 until the very end, where were told that on 11.17.06 the “wait is over”. If you can manage to get one, that is.

    umm….ok?

  2. Anuban Says:

Wow … that sure gets me excited … NOT!

  3. STD Says:

WTF is this? Is this really supposed to get me hyped for the PS3?

  4. Stuckey Says:

i dont mean to be a fanboy or anything…but that commercial blows

Wow, this clip is so friggin’ awesome!

They always got these original commercials. Frankly I never watch commercials, but this is awesome.

The coming of the great storm, the wait haahahha. You bet your asses this will work.

  7. Zac Says:

    lol typical of Doom.

I guess we should say the ps3 is target at children, since the protagonist is a kid. Makes sence, if you use Shaka’s logic.

  8. Anuban Says:

LOL @ Doom … nothing phases that character. What a diehard FANBOY.

  9. Gh3tt0 Child Says:

it kinda makes sense because every one is waiting for the ps3 to come

  10. A. Green Says:

They should’ve had that kid selling crack rocks or offering hand jobs in order to afford the PS3.

  11. doom Says:

Yeah, that would’ve been even more awesome, but for those who know, the start of the 19th century england industries had massive child labour in sub-humane circumstances. So it’s almost as bad as selling crack:P

I mean.. that’s what the images looked like to me.

I think it’s cool to make a non-standard commercial. I already loved the PR dept from sony when they sponsored the EK or whatever soccer thingy, and they just had this massive ball floating around in the commercials, everyone was like: WTF CRAZY JAPANESE???

    Class!

  12. Lemond Says:

None of those kids are gonna get a PS3 standing on the roof!

  13. Anuban Says:

Well at first I really didn’t care and didn’t see any clear evidence of why I should. But now, afer reading this about Marvel Ultimate Alliance I wonder if maybe there is something to what all these Sony Fanboys are incessantly yammering about.

“Graphically, the PlayStation 3 version looked the best of the three and sported some interesting distortion and blur effects that were absent from the Xbox 360 and Wii versions. Powerful attacks on the PS3 caused ripples of invisible energy to distort the area around the attack momentarily. When asked why this was absent from the 360 version, a developer told us that it was due to the PS3’s ability to handle shaders differently than what can be done on the 360 or Wii. Both the 360 and PS3 versions made use of impressive lighting techniques, particle effects, hi-res textures, and impressive character models while the Wii looks to be a mild step up from the current-gen efforts; though that is certainly to be expected at this point. Also, the PlayStation 3 version of the game was shown running in 1080p, which looked absolutely incredible and sharp while the Xbox 360 was running at a respectable 720p and the Wii version running at 480p. All three versions supported 16:9 widescreen modes.”

Kinda surpised that this place hasn’t reported on this yet. That new MUA PS/3 gameplay movie is pretty sweet looking … definitely (I hate to admit it though because I know the SFBs are going to take the ball and run with it all the way to infinity) and noticeably better looking than the game on the 360 platform … and the gameplay trailer does show some real use for the axis motion controller thingy. Hmmm could the fanboys be on to something here. I wonder. Uh oh Gears/Halo 3 … Killzone may indeed be better (looking anyway) … damn.

  14. Zac Says:

Obviously the ps3 will have the best graphics. You’d want it to at $600. (comparing to the other console’s prices)

Yeah PS3 will be the best, finally the kid speaks some sence for once.

  16. Anuban Says:

Well at this point I think it is just bet for me at least to wait until I actually get some hands on with the PS/3 at a friend’s house or some store. I was pretty sure things would be pretty even but after seeing that particular trailer I am starting to wonder. Still though I enjoy my 360 and still say the game to have for the Holidays is Gears; however, I now need to see R:FoM myself in order to make an honest evaluation of which one I think is the overall better Action/Survival Horror game.

  17. Doom Says:

Same here. Though I’d prefer a ps3 due to pleasant memories of it’s predecessors. I still wait for like a year untill I know which system I deem best. (Wii is ofcourse not taken into the equation)

    Why not Doom?

    Sony fanboy

You know Doom, you always puts big efforts into telling people they are sorry fanboys, and that you, on the opposite, is completely open minded. But you are such a fanboy yourself, and the best part is… There’s nothing wrong with being a fanboy, unless it leads to blindness and anger towards others. Take a deep look into the mirror ultra cool and hardass Mr. mother fucking DOOOOOOOOM

‘ ‘ (Wii is ofcourse not taken into the equation) ‘ ‘

Hehehe same here not a big fan of gimmick games my self though the EyeToy for PS2 rocks and guitar Hero ect.

  21. Anuban Says:

I like the Wii … I just like Graphics a LOT more … so for me anyway it really is important how things are visually … I’m just a visual person. Still I expect that a game be tons of fun and have really solid gameplay and mechanics.

My four (or five) current favorite games will give you some insight: UT2K4/F.E.A.R. (PC), God of War (PS/2), DOA4/PGR3 (Xbox360), Hulk:UD/UC2 (Xbox) funny how there is no tie for the PS/2 platform for me at least. And yeah I know where is Oblivion, GRAW or CoD2 for the 360 … well they are good games (especially GRAW)and I finished COD2 but they aren’t what I bought the 360 for. Gears and Halo 3 were the main reasons.

  22. marquee Says:

wow that commercial sucked. I felt a bit more excited when the break beatin commercials of x360 were 1st coming out.

  23. Doom Says:

Kaiser soze, it seems like you spend a lot of time calling me a fanboy, while in effect, you are one yourself. So… explain to me please what the point of that post is?

Btw, the commercial is really cool, where it for wii I’d say the same, but it isnt. (doh)

  24. marquee Says:

Break Dance!!! much more excitment Doom “Jump In”!!!

  25. Kaiser Soze Says:

“Kaiser soze, it seems like you spend a lot of time calling me a fanboy, while in effect, you are one yourself. So… explain to me please what the point of that post is?”

Well Doom the point is, that you always put it in a negative spot to be a fanboy. I’d say there’s nothing negative in being FB, and there’s nothing to be ashamed over

“while in effect, you are one yourself.”

And I have never said that I wasn’t a fanboy. Yes, I am a very big fan of both Zelda and Mario. Does that make me a Nintendo fanboy? Most likely

“So… explain to me please what the point of that post is?”

The point of the post was to make you accept that you are a Sony fanboy, and to accept that there’s nothing wrong with it, instead of always putting it in negative terms
