Postal 3 Announced
October 19th, 2006 by Tobias Dahl in Action, Adventure, PC, Rumor, Simulation, Xbox360
Developer Running With Scissors has confirmed to FiringSquad that Postal 3 is in development. The previous Postal games were some of the most violent PC games to date, in which the player could, for example, set people on fire, urinate on them as they walk by, and similar things that made Postal 2 so controversial.
Postal 3 will use Valve’s Source engine, and will be released on the Xbox360 and PC. It appears to be the first game to use the Source engine on the Xbox360, as Valve announced yesterday that they are releasing an Xbox360 version. There is no release date set, but the developer thinks it will hit the stores “early 2008″.

As a gamer I find these games totally disgusting. It gives the industry a bad name and will heap even more blame on it for all the wrong in the world.
I played the first postal way back when and I found that disturbing even in all it’s 2D pixels. I guess the kid who is planing his next high school massacre will pick this up though.

I also think Valve is muddying it’s quality name with it’s association with this product, but I guess that’s the.choice they’ve made,

Hey it’s a business and Valve just wants to get a piece of the pie so whoever has the money and wants to license their engine they will let them do just that because though it may be their engine it isn’t their game. Since it isn’t their game no one is going to care about anything to do with Valve. Anyway Valve needs this if they ever hope to mount any real competition to UE3 (I don’t think they are delusional about that though … I mean really the race is over … between the Source engine and UE3 anyway. It was over the moment UE3 was first shown).
Just like Epic has never had any reprecussions letting these guys use both of their earlier engines for their two games. I think people are smart enough to seperate the two things. Remember an engine is just middleware; it’s the people who are responsible for how they want to use it.

The game play sucked on the Postal games, the violence was overrated and unrealistic, its the ‘daddy says your not playing it’ that encouraged people to buy it. Remove the oxygen of the media hype and its just another low selling mediocre game.

Just as I thought … Games like that generally are pretty mediocre at best. But maybe by using the Source engine they hope to get more of an audience. Who knows.

Who plays this game? It’s so totally boring!
The idea was kind of original, but gta blows this hillbilly game away on all fronts.

ok i hate alot of u gamerz /and sports fans..itlooks like nobody is original anymore?everyone is so in a hurry to forget the past!y? can u tellme y?PPL r so dumb they compare the id engine and the source to the unreal 3 engine.im sorry for a game to be 2 years going on 3 years old this engine rocks hard.I play css and i still have fun just shooting bottles and cans and pcs and trash cans.I cant help to think that css was the first real next gen game to change everything.Well doom 3 was, when i saw the grapchis and the doors open.As io watched the world of gaming changed ,my stomach dropped. Most games die in 1-2 months, usually a couple weeks.Yeah some games blow hl2 away now but for the longest time no game beat doom3 and hl2 or fear.Love a classic for what it was worth and stop comparing now engines to old ones cuz the source and ids engine was awesome and games r still using em.just better modded, but if u go hey the unreal 3 engine is better than the source ur retarded cuz anyone should know that.
