Assassin’s Creed Delayed, GRAW2 Announced

grawUbisoft released their quarterly earnings today, and at the same time announced that Assassin’s Creed and Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway have both been pushed back to the next financial year, probably Q3 2007. In addition, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 was announced, currently in developed and scheduled for release in Q2 2007.

Assassin’s Creed was meant to appear on the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3 in the beginning of 2007, alongside Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway. Now both games have been pushed back at least 6 months, no reason was given for the delay.

On the business side, earnings for the first half of 2006 were 25% better than expected; total sales reached 274 million euros ($310 million). Ubisoft expects sales to increase in the second half of 2006, due to several new titles (including Splinter Cell Double Agent, and Rainbow Six Las Vegas), and a massive Wii lineup.

    I won’t be upset but I know a TON of folks who were really looking forward to that AC game … I can hear them crying now … oh well at least a new GRAW is coming soon. They probably just have too many simultaneous projects … like all the other major studios trying to publish for every console and handheld on the market.
