wiiboxes1.jpgNintendo has confirmed the plan of shipping 4 million Wii consoles in North America from launch to the end of 2006, roughly 6 weeks. In a press release, Nintendo says they are working around the clock to keep retailers’ shelves filled, and will be shipping the consoles by land, sea and air. Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime says

“Because of demand, we’re urging shoppers not to get complacent. The level of demand we’re seeing goes beyond the ordinary. Retailers are telling us a significant fraction of customers pre-ordering Wii are nontraditional gamers – people looking for a better way to play. And that’s exactly what Wii is designed to provide.”

As confirmed earlier, a total of 32 Wii titles and 30 Virtual Console titles will be available in 2006.

4 Million for NA, 1 million for Europe and 1 million for Japan according to analysts. It’s most likely 2-2,5 mil. for Japan and 500k for Europe, if the Europeans are lucky enough to even get 500k.

I really do think they’d get more if they advertised more effectively.
