xbox360 ps3.jpgSilicon Nights are currently busy developing the Xbox360 action game Too Human, and have made past hits like Eternal Darkness for the GameCube. Company president Denis Dyack said in an interview that the PS3 and Xbox360 are “equal” when it comes to performance. Speaking to Dean Takanashi and Mercury News,

“Maybe the PS3 has more processing power. The 360 has more available memory. It’s pretty much a net, net. The public perception of the PS3 was that it was much more powerful. To developers, they look even.”

He added that the PS3 could have more power, but that it would be hard to take advantage of the Cell CPU at this point. From a developer standpoint, he mentioned that games today require two or three times as many programmers and artists as last generation, saying that it’s “starting to approach the cost of small budget movies”.
