HD Videos Coming To Xbox Live

Microsoft announced that several TV shows are coming to Xbox Live soon, in full HD quality. From November 22nd, the first anniversary of the Xbox360, North American owners will be able to download shows like CSI, Survivor, and South Park. Movie rentals will also be available via Xbox Live, including Mission Impossible 3, Superman Returns, and The Matrix Trilogy.

Sony has already issued a statement criticizing Microsoft’s attempt to distribute TV shows and movies, saying Microsoft is “cut out its Core system owners”, since they don’t have a hard drive.

“We would never segregate or shut out any of our consumers from our entertainment experience because they didn’t buy the top of the line system.”

    This could be real bad long term, as XBOX Live is a closed mini monopolised network, if M$ start to get ‘live exclusives’ it could take pay per view to a new level.
