Ubisoft is beginning to run Red Steel TV ads in the US. It’s one of the most anticipated Wii launch titles and has been both praised and criticized since the official reveal during E3. It’ll be interesting to see if it manages to live up to the hype Ubisoft has been building over the past 6 months.

    WOW. That commercial really sucks

  2. Anuban Says:

 yeah I didn’t think it was that great either. It wouldn’t make me want to buy a Wii that’s for sure. But I do want one to be clear … but I will wait for a year and see what transpires.

Are you really going to wait a year? I actually doubt thats gonna happen. Anyway, that commercial, as you also kinda said, does the opposite of whats its supposed to do. If this commercial was the only thing that I had seen from Red Steel, I would never even try the game. Luckily it aint

You doubt what is going to happen? All I said was I was going to wait a year and see what happens … as far as overall opinions and how games are, if the hardware has any major bugs, stuff like that.

If you thought I meant waiting until the price drops … nah .. I am too old for that … I get what I want but only when I feel the time is right. If it is still $250 by the time I decide to get it then so be it. For now though 2007 belongs to the 360 and my PC (which is going to be seriously upgraded to a quad CPU and quad GPU by this time next year).

I didn’t mean anything sarcastic about the recent comment, just that if the Wii lives up to the hype, then maybe it would a difficult task not to buy it at once.

I wasn’t upset I just didn’t know what you meant. You are one of the decent dudes around here and I am sorry if that come across wrong. No no I am pretty sure I will wait at least a year. After playing (not finishing though) Gears of War and seeing how Heaven’s Sword looks on the PS/3 (and plus I can’t wait for God of War 3) I am becoming increasingly worried that I just won’t be able to scale down graphically … I am a VERY visually oriented person and while gameplay is important for me to enjoy a game I have always believed Graphics > Gameplay. So now I really don’t know if I am going to ever get a Wii.

I do know however that as soon as God of War 3 ships I’ll be buying a PS/3. No sooner and no later. That is my killer app for that console. Plus by then they will have ironed out so many technical and business/supply/price issues that it should be a bit less expensive and more technically solid.
