DigitalBattle Newstip Competition

We’re proud to present our monthly newstip competition, where you can win a Nintendo Wii (including Wii Sports), month after month.
All you have to do is send your best newstip(s) to us, and the winner will be chosen on the 1st day of each month, starting December 1st.
The address is:

Previous winners:
November 2006: Anuban, USA
December 2006: Beck, Norway
Note: Because of the shortages of the Wii, we cannot guarantee a console on the 1st of each month, but we will do everything we can to secure a console to the winner as soon as possible.

November 10th, 2006 at 1:07 am
Wow sounds really cool. What kind of newstip exactly? Anything at all from the gaming industry or more specific?
November 10th, 2006 at 2:08 am
Hahaha, I’ve… seen that before… actually..
Because I’ve won one newstip competition, does that disallow me to enter another?
November 10th, 2006 at 2:23 am
Hey I sent in a tip that could come in handy. These are 100% true sources: G4 news:IGN:Multiple magazines: a few people who work in various stores.
Thanks man. Good site. Keep up the good work.
November 10th, 2006 at 3:53 pm
wow so how does this work you send in leaked news ? I have some good news that I found
November 15th, 2006 at 3:55 pm
Wait … could we get one example .. would having sent you info on the Wii DVD playback capability counted? because I knew about that before it was posted here. Does something like that work … if so then definitely I am all over this.
November 15th, 2006 at 4:59 pm
No I understand that … come on now … I just wanted to be clear that type of info actually counts. That’s all. No one was making such a preposterous assumption … I’m in my 40s I don’t have time for that.
November 21st, 2006 at 4:38 am

Just send in links to new stories around the web that are gaming related. I shouldn’t be helping you seeing as how I am working my ass off to win the next Wii but you are fellow gamer so it’s all good.

Thanks so much to DigitalBattle and the editors for sponsoring this contest and making me so happy … I am proud to have done enough work to be the first winner. I’m going to love finally having a Wii no matter what the reviewers and some industry pundits are saying … you guys have made my month! Again thanks and good luck to all those that are vying for the next one. Just so EVERYONE knows I am no longer interested in winning any more contests in the near future … at least not anytime before some 360 items are the rewards.

Well there was a report on CNN just a few moments ago which also talked about the problems associated with the Wii … breaking things and potentially hurt you or who you are playing with so maybe you could wait on sending me mine until Nintendo makes an official statement about what it plans to do about the strap design.
Plus by then there should be more readily available. I am willing to wait until Mid February to see what they say and what if anything will be done … so yeah if you don’t mind don’t even worry about mine until February. I don’t want to get one now and then a month or two later they change the strap design. Thanks.
December 8th, 2006 at 1:53 pm
But … on the other hand if they announce they are NOT going to change anything for a long time then I do want mine first afterall, or as soon as they announce it as long as it’s not past Feb. I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Anuban, just get the Wii. =P So far for me, the strap thing isn’t an issue at all. If you really wanted, you could even detatch the strap that’s on there and tie your own on…
Just get the Wii and Twilight Princess, strap issue or not (not much hard swinging is even needed for Zelda anyway). The game is brilliant.
December 8th, 2006 at 7:52 pm
You know what … whatever works best for my friends here at DB … I’ll let them decide. I just kind of stressed after seeing that report on CNN.
December 8th, 2006 at 9:15 pm
oh yeah man I seen those pics lmfao they was funny as hell I mean people need no to swing it like Barry Bonds hell it was they fault but , It is starting to scare me cause Kids are goofy and if that thang smashes a Lcd I paid for imma be pissed !or is a kid swings the Mote around and smacks my Grandma in the head that would be trouble . i just think they need to be more careful and make the straps stronger
December 9th, 2006 at 1:40 am
Hehe fair enough.
The flyring Wiimotes is a rarity though.
December 9th, 2006 at 10:28 am
lol man I seen a pic of a smashed TV in the bottom left corner and it look like a lcd I would be (HOT!) I mean pissed off cause it was smashed ! lmfao it was dented in and I see another were that “stated” it went threw the side part of the tv that plastic part but I looked fishy to me because you would have to shoot it out a cannon to do that type of damage
December 10th, 2006 at 1:59 am

December 10th, 2006 at 2:11 am
HeatMatter:
All you have to do is send your best newstip(s) to us, and the winner will be chosen on the 1st day of each month, starting December 1st.
The address is:
tips@digitalbattle.com …
Good luck man.
December 10th, 2006 at 2:13 am
To get the newstips go to various gaming sites (IGN.com, 1UP.com, Gamespot.com, younewb.com, etc.) and make sure the article is not already on DB and then send them the title of the article and the link to it. Basically you have to be willing to gather loads of info for the writers here at DB.
December 10th, 2006 at 7:51 pm
hey umm… i sent some news articles and new cheat articles was that wat u were looking 4?
December 10th, 2006 at 9:36 pm
Yep now just keep doing it and at the end of the month hope you sent in the best tips. You’ll know by the first of January … remember other people have already been hard at work sending in news tips since December 1st so you may have your work cut out for you. Just hit as many gaming sites you can and check to make sure the article hasn’t already found its way here before you send the title and the link to DB. Again good luck and just do your best and be patient even if you don’t hear one thing before the winner is announced. This is a competition afterall and plenty of people would also love to win a Wii.
