PS3 Lines Already Forming

November 10th, 2006 Posted in News

Lines for the PlayStation 3 are already forming in the U.S., 9 days before the actual launch of the system. A CAG community member made a visit to his local Best Buy, and reported that he saw about 7 people waiting outside of the store. One of the workers inside Best Buy says that the line has been there since Monday.

The member recalled a few people walking into the store to pick up Gears of War and tease the fanboys outside.

The awesome thing was, as I was waiting outside, I saw a bunch of people coming to Best Buy and picking up Gears of War. A few people made some funny remarks. One guy is like, “I hope you guys brought enough food!” Another one said, “Where is the line for PS4? Is it on the other side?”

11 days of waiting outside of a Best Buy…for a PS3? Seems dedicated to me, but at the same time a complete waste of time. I’m just wondering if these people have jobs.

not only do these people not have jobs they must have absolutely ZERO lives. I mean this is sooo damn pathetic it is not even funny … at all. Did these people watch that Southpark Nintendo Wii episode and decide to emulate cartman …

With all the crazy crap going on and the many things they could be doing with all this spare time they decide to go and waste 11 days plus waiting for a damn video console. And I bet some people even took vacation days just for this. It is really sad … this is why nothing solid gets done in this country … people would rather waste time than do something substantial.

You know what would be funny to me and ironic … if a big Sony delivery truck smashed into all these people … killing them all. I wouldn’t shed a tear … PEOPLE STOP ACTING LIKE IDIOTS.

(hopefully this won’t need to await moderation … )

I should have added to the article, “That’s Shaka in the front of the line.”

Awesome! Great job, guys! Us gamers needed another stereotype. For the love of everything, please don’t let Jacko see this. :shutter:

There is a good chance they are paid actors the ‘massive queues outside retail outlet a week before launch’ makes a good news story to increase hype. Same as the ‘oh dear there will be shortages one’

Same with midnight store openings. Normally the people are paid to make up numbers or get something free to make it worth their while. No one with a life cares if they get the console at 12 or 9am the next day

They’re lining up so they can get it the next day instead of the next … however long it takes for sony to ship more consoles because of the limited units. These people just don’t want to risk missing out on the first batch.
