ps3 gamestop.jpgAccording to GameSpot, games retailer GameStop will not be able to fulfill all PS3 pre-orders. Apparently the company will receive only about half of the consoles, leaving many gamers who put down an extra $100 waiting for the second shipment. A company representative told GameSpot:

“We are beginning to notify our customers that our initial shipment of PS3 systems will not be what we expected. As this is not an ideal situation, we are asking employees to wait to purchase systems until the second shipment. We are anticipating having systems to cover reservations before Christmas.”

The unlucky ones who pre-ordered will get a free used DVD or game (under $20) when they eventually manage to get a PS3. GameStop also asked employees to wait buying a console until the pre-orders are fulfilled.
